Located in Emerson Park (1116 W Alice Ave<\/a>), the Emerson-Garfield Farmers\u2019 Market is a seasonal weekly marketplace featuring around two dozen regional and neighborhood vendors.<\/p>\n

The aim of the market is to bring fresh, healthy, affordable goods that are locally grown or produced to the residents of Emerson-Garfield as well as all those who pass through our up-and-coming neighborhood.<\/p>\n

An intentional side benefit is that it also serves as a community hub, bringing both people and organizations together and cultivating meaningful relationships between them.<\/p>\n

The market takes place every Friday from 3 to 7pm. In 2026, the season will run from June 5<\/strong> to September 25<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

HISTORY<\/strong><\/span><\/h6>\n

The idea for the market was first hatched in May of 2013 by members of the Emerson-Garfield Neighborhood Council. Thanks to additional support from Catholic Charities, Project Hope Spokane (now River City Youth) and Knox Presbyterian Church, along with a trio of business donors, it launched mid-season (July 17) that same year with approximately 15 vendors.<\/p>\n

The market’s first full season was in 2014. Enthusiasm on the part of the wider vendor community saw the total vendor count rise to nearly 30 during peak season; the loyalty\u00a0of our patrons and their positive word of mouth helped to double total market sales.<\/p>\n

Knox Presbyterian (806 W Knox<\/a>) generously hosted the market in the church’s parking lot for the first three years. Between 2016 and 2024, the market was located in the parking lot of Spokane Colleges’ Adult Education Center (2310 North Monroe<\/a>). It moved to Emerson Park in 2025.<\/p>\n

Today the market continues to function as an all-volunteer initiative of the Emerson-Garfield Neighborhood Council<\/a> with ongoing collaborative support from the North Monroe Business District<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
