{"id":457,"date":"2016-04-27T10:38:50","date_gmt":"2016-04-27T17:38:50","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/market.emersongarfield.org\/?p=457"},"modified":"2016-04-27T10:38:50","modified_gmt":"2016-04-27T17:38:50","slug":"market-poster-contest-2016","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/market.emersongarfield.org\/?p=457","title":{"rendered":"Market Poster Contest 2016"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Parents of students at Audubon and Garfield Elementary, \u00a0please take note!<\/p>\n<p>The Emerson-Garfield Farmers\u2019 Market is holding its third\u00a0annual poster contest for students\u00a0in neighborhood schools. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.spokaneschools.org\/Domain\/1930\" target=\"_blank\">Audubon Elementary<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.spokaneschools.org\/Domain\/2183\" target=\"_blank\">Garfield Elementary<\/a>\u00a0are the schools that have been invited\u00a0to take part this year.\u00a0A notice should have been distributed in the students&#8217; Monday folders about two weeks ago.<\/p>\n<p>Students in grades 1\u20136 at these schools are asked to design a poster for the upcoming 2016 market season.<\/p>\n<p>The poster should:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>be in\u00a0<strong>color on white 8.5&#8243; x 11&#8243;<\/strong>\u00a0(US letter-sized) paper; portrait or landscape style are both acceptable<\/li>\n<li>contain the title:\u00a0<strong>Emerson-Garfield Farmers\u2019 Market<\/strong>\u00a0\u2014 please make sure it\u2019s properly spelled and punctuated!<\/li>\n<li>illustrate the theme \u201c<strong>community farmers market<\/strong>\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The deadline is\u00a0<strong>Friday<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>May 6<\/strong>. Two winning entries \u2014 one from each school \u2014 will be selected and announced by Monday, May 9. Students are asked to submit only one (1) entry per individual.<\/p>\n<p>The winning entries will printed as posters and flyers. They will be hung throughout the neighborhood and around Spokane prior to and during the 2016 market season to help promote the market. They will also be posted on the market&#8217;s and\/or Emerson-Garfield Neighborhood\u2019s blog, Twitter and Facebook accounts.<\/p>\n<p>The two winners and their parent(s) or guardian will be asked to be present at the opening market on Friday, June 10 to be acknowledged in person.
